Potato Curry With Besan Fritters

Ingredients
  

Besan Fritter (Bor)

  • 100 gm Besan
  • 25 gm Green Peas
  • 1 Big Size Onion Chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies Chopped
  • 1/4 tbsp Turmeric (Haldhi) Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 50 gm Cooking Oil l Preferable Mustard Oi
  • Salt to Taste

Potato Curry with Besan Fritters

  • 2 Big Size Potato Cut into medium size cubes
  • 1 Big Size Tomato Chopped
  • 1 Big Size Onion Chopped
  • 3 Green Chilly Cut into halves
  • 1 Red Chilly
  • 2 Elaichi
  • 1 tbsp Cumin (Jeera) Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cumin (Jeera) Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander (Dhania) Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Turmeric (Haldhi) Powder
  • 50 gm Cooking Oil Preferably Mustard Oil
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions
 

Besan Fritter (Bor)

  • Take Besan in a bowl, add Peas, Onion, Green Chilly, Red Chilly Powder, Turmeric, and Salt to it. Mix the ingredients together.
  • Now add water to the mixture and stir together. Keep stirring until it turns into a very thick batter.
  • Make small balls out of this mixture
  • Heat Oil in a pan and deep fry the fritters
  • Drain the fritters (around 2 dozens) on clean and absorbent paper towels and keep aside.

Potato Curry with Besan Fritters

  • Keep the ingredients in place.
  • Heat some oil in a pan. Add the potato cubes, pinch of haldi and salt. Fry for 3-4 minutes. Keep aside.
  • In the same pan, add little more oil. Let it heat.
  • Add cumin seeds, elaichi and dry chilly. Saute for a while.
  • Now, add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add tomato, green chilly, salt and haldhi. Fry till tomato becomes soft and collapse.
  • Now, add cumin powder, coriander powder and Kashmiri red chilly powder. Mix them well.
  • Add the fried potato cubes. Mix them with the ingredients.
  • Cook with occasional stirring.
  • When the oil starts to secrete from the gravy, pour water as per your desired consistency.
  • When the gravy starts to boil, add the besan fritters.
  • Cook till the gravy start to thicken. You can mash some potato cubes so that it gels with the gravy.
  • Remove from fire. You may garnish with chopped Coriander (Dhania) leaves.

Notes

Serve hot with steamed rice.
